Holiday Whirlwind

WOW! I'm majorly behind on my Christmas and NYE posts and I'm truly saddened. I had such good intentions of locking down these memories and all the important details and now so much time has passed that I know I'll inevitable leave out something important. If you haven't figured it out yet, this blog is half scrapbook/half updates for friends and family.

I spent all of the holidays this year in NYC, and actually worked both Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I was saddened by the unit's lack of Christmas spirit. Very minimal decorations and no pot luck made me feel a little bah-hum-bug, but knowing that my family was coming brightened my spirits. I did my best to spread Christmas cheer with red & green scrubs, silly holiday hats, and singing. Fortunately the unit wasn't too crazy and I had the privilege to take care of several sweet babies. I worked the Monday following Christmas and my family drove from OH (about 9 hours) to come spend the next few days with me. I'll try to hit on the highlights since so much time has lapsed and my memory is failing me already at the young age of 26!

Monday evening, while I was still at work, they arrived and ventured over to Bryant Park to explore the holiday shops and grab some food. We met at my place, hugged, kissed, chatted, made fun of me and my love for all things casserole at the holidays (I had bought tons of food to make stuff at work...for the pot luck that wasn't) which included them changing the words to the Sound of Music's "These are a few of my favorite things" all about my love for broccoli and corn casseroles! It's hard to keep straight what we did each day, so I'll just post some memorable photos for you to enjoy!
